But even so, I wouldn’t change Stunfisk at all (aside from maybe the face of course). At least in the sense that it’s another Slowpoke or Lickitung that are goofy-looking but just aren’t my thing. But I’m over here saying it’s a crime that Stunfisk’s face isn’t all contorted and Picasso-like.Īs far as personal opinion goes, Stufisk feels like a design from Gen 1. But honestly, if you were to look at a real-life flat-fish’s face, you’d be counting your blessings that Stunfisk here is actually less weird looking than that thing. Of course, this is another one of those Pokemon that was hated immediately just because it ain’t a cat or a fox. Suddenly its rather flatulent-sounding cry makes more sense! And what better way to interpret that than basically making the thing a land-mine. Which makes enough sense for a flatfish, being something the buries itself in the sand. Instead, it winds up with the rather unique Electric/Ground typing. Would someone that’s not a modern fan of Pokemon or even new to Pokemon believe me if I told them this fish wasn’t a Water type? Cause that’s still something that surprises me to this day.
